Photo of  woman murdered by Fulani herdsmen/terrorists emerges

The photo of the woman beheaded by Fulani terrorists/herdsmen has been released. The terrorists beheaded the woman and inflicted severe injuries on two others in Illah community, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, after the refused to be raped. 

The incident was coming barely one month the suspected herdsmen wrote a letter to Okpaman Community in the same LG to prepare for invasion.

Nigerian Breaking News reports that apprehension is still in the community until date. As the news of the attack spread round town, tension became palpable as residents scampered for safety for fear of being victims of the onslaught of the marauding herdsmen. 

The source added that the situation could have been worse but for the intervention of the police who stormed the scene of the incident prompting the herdsmen to disappear into the thin air. 

Police later removed the corpse of the beheaded woman while the injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Source confirmed that the rampaging herdsmen were alleged to have attempted to rape the victims who were said to be on a fishing expedition at the Otu Ngegu (Gulugulu) in Ajaji area of the sleepy community, before unleashing matchet cuts on them. 

“The women were fishing when some persons wearing mask and dressed like herdsmen emerged from the nearby bush and attack them trying to rape them. 

“But they resisted which infuriated the assailants; one of them brought out a sharp cutlass and cut the neck of one of the women. She died instantly.

The assailant also descended on the two but was unable to kill them. He however inflicted injuries on them,” sources said. 

DSP Celestina Kalu, Public Relations Officer of the state police command, could not say categorically whether the lone assailant was a herdsman or not but said an unknown attacker who masked his face. 

She confirmed that there were three casualties, adding that one died while two others who were injured had taken to the hospital. 

“Yes there was an attack but can’t say if he was a herdsman because the attacker masked up. We are already on top of the situation and normalcy has been restored. The matter is under investigation,” she posited
