Chevron was bombed last week and there is no sign of relenting on the side of the Avengers and I simply want to look at their number seventh demand which is the release of Nnamdi Kanu. Was Chevron bombed because of Nnamdi Kanu? Will the hostility across the Niger (Biafra land) stop if number seventh demand on list is met? Can Nnamdi Kanu stop the hostility? Looking at these questions, one will be convinced that Kanu will stop the hostility because he never supported militancy or destruction of pipelines which he argued is a threat to Biafrans across the Niger.



The militants will now be asking “who is now right, you bring peace and they gave us violence”. This notion might be basis for this renewed hostility and Kanu’s release will symbolize peace and the militants will again be proven wrong. Nnamdi Kanu has the influence as the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra to call the Avengers to order.

There is no doubt that there is now a full blown hostility across the Niger and the FG of Nigeria is clueless as to how to tame the monster. This renewed hostility is as a result of injustices and going by the list of demands upon which the hostility will stop, a common man or a just man will stand in ovation any time NDA are seen passing or any time the news of explosion comes. One truth is, to us the just and common people, the bombing being carried out on oil installations is good news and we pray for more. With the oil flowing, we don’t gain anything, no power supply neither is fuel sold at moderate rate. If destruction of everything will bring justice, let it be so that we may all be equal, than for a set of people to live on our misery and thrive as rich men. I don’t see Buhari going into war because Avengers are fully on ground with ammunition more sophisticated than his military.

The ‘peoples’ Avengers have their list of demand upon which the bombing will stop, the demand only have the release of one man among many men illegally imprisoned. Dasuki is in detention for a long time now while others are still not heard of. The decision to demand Kanu’s release is simply the connection we cannot deny and one cannot be fighting for Kanu and fighting for another republic at a go. There is likely a self made ‘undercover’ alliance that will enhance free or independent operation in form of protest. Everybody can be fooled but IPOB ‘Biafrans’ must keep supporting justice no matter the means it is fought for. Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra and Ijaw, Igbo, Isoko, Urhobo, Itshekiri etc are all integral part of Biafra and by virtue of this, Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra where Avengers came from and due to the kind of respect Kanu command in Biafra land, he can call Avengers to order as they are from Biafra.

Nnamdi Kanu is one man from the beginning that have been calling for an end to destruction of oil installations, he urged the people of Ijaw, Egbema, Aguleri, Urhobo, Isoko, Ogoni, Itsekiri among others to shun militancy. This call was heeded until he was arrested and upon his arrest, nobody was there to call the youths to order and militancy sprang. This is the second phase of the militancy and there is no remarkable reason for this renewed hostility except the actions and reactions of the Buhari led FG that have neglected the people of old eastern part (Biafra people). Recall that Nnamdi Kanu refused to meet any group of Militants or ex-militants as he insisted on criticism of everyone; aimed at causing ‘self change’. To him, change by oneself is the best change one can experience, so he only shouted bluntly from a distance which by virtue of reason tamed militancy in Biafra land.

Nnamdi Kanu’s move to be against militants was not actually as a result of hatred, he also felt for them as there was no opportunity for them as a result of corruption and impunity in the contraption called Nigeria. Biafra land is under hardship, slavery and subjugation and that affected the youths which prompted militancy from the onset. The Avengers in question is an all inclusive militant squad which comprises of commanders across Biafra land. From Enugu, Imo, Anambra, Delta, Abakiliki, Bayelsa, Cross river, Rivers etc. while IPOB rejected any form of violence, they left IPOB to independently stand on their own and there is no doubt that the release of Nnamdi Kanu who would in turn talk to the militants will restore normalcy.

When Isoko spokesman Oke Ebeta was contacted over the phone he said “I don’t need to tell you, you should be able to read the handwriting, I am now speaking for the entire Biafrans across the Niger and not only Isoko. The Avengers demanded for the release of Nnamdi Kanu just as IPOB protest and get killed in demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu. The Avengers instead of protest, they bomb an oil facility which is the kind of protest they know. We Biafrans across the Niger want Nnamdi Kanu released and that is why we are happy with Avengers. There is no doubt that if Nnamdi Kanu is released for them, he can talk to Avengers to stop and they would stop. What Avengers want is to take what belongs to them and Nnamdi Kanu(Biafra) will give them what belongs to them”. He further said that hence Avengers demanded for Nnamdi Kanu, that if Kanu is released, he can also make his demand which is ’stop the hostility let us peacefully go about our restoration project. Niger delta republic is not on demand list, so if Kanu is released, this hostility will stop”.

Finally, Exxon mobil has shut down and to leave, Chevron has been under intense attack and others will follow and leave. While there are no human casualties like kidnapping etc, further negligence to the demands made by Avengers will deteriorate the situation. Human casualties might get involved and there is a better time to listen to the Avengers by releasing Nnamdi Kanu to them and he can in return talk to Avengers because from the beginning Kanu is against militancy and Avengers will not neglect the man they fight for ‘as listed on their demand list”.
