I just got off the phone with Governor Dave Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi state regarding his decision to create grazing route for the terrorist Fulani herdsmen in the state. We also discussed on his decision not to restrict their movement.
His reasons are that if he would restrict or ask them to leave the state, that their people will also ask our people living in the North to leave or start killing them.
He asked me if I know of any governor anywhere in the country that has asked the Fulani to leave.
I replied that our people living in the North do not move about like the herdsmen.
They are generally peaceful and pay their tax as well as contribute in the development of the area they live and do business.
They do not invade people's communities and start massacring them. Unlike us, the Fulani don't pay tax and never developed anywhere they are.
Warning to Gov Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State: 50 years ago Lebanon’s 78% Christian majority welcomed Palestinian Muslim Refugees. Today they have been decimated to 34% Persecuted Christian Minority in their own Country
I responded that we are talking of the interest and common good of the Igbo nation.
And that whatever affects an Igbo living in Ebonyi also affects an Igbo living in Umuahia, Awka, Owerri, Anioma and so fort.
That we are totally against his plans. He said if I knew any governor in Igbo land that has stopped the Fulani I should tell him.
I told him that the fact that other governors have not done it does not mean you should open up our territory to the marauding Fulani to roam freely as they like.
He said he will be putting measures on ground to checkmate their movements and ensure they do not trespass on people's farmlands.
I responded that this is not the modern method of rearing cattle. That all over the world, nations are modernizing cattle husbandry via ranching.
Instead of creating herding routes, they should develop ranches.
He replied that that should be the job of the national Assembly to legislate upon. That if we are not pleased, we should sponsor a bill to the NASS to that effect.
I told him you do not need a bill from NASS before you can develop ranches.
And that there should be a South east stakeholders meeting on the Fulani activities to secure all Igbo territory.
He said well he is simply doing what he feels is immediate to ensure peace between his people and the herders by giving them grazing route.
I told him we will resist it because it is not in our best interest. He said OK that he has heard me on the issue and appreciated me for calling.
We do not want grazing routes for the Fulani in any part of Igbo land.
They should go to the North and develop ranches to breed their cattle.
Governor Dave Umahi found no reason to drive out fulani herdsmen from Ebonyi State.
There should rather be plans to create grazing route for them to rear their cows without intruding on farmlands.
David Nweze Umahi is a typical example of why a goat should never be allowed close to power!
He thinks and breathes like a goat! You don't need to think far to see why these people allowed Islam to entrench in Ebonyi State; FOOLISHNESS!
The fulani came all the way from North to build an Islamic University in Ebonyi State, whereas no such thing in the North!
It is because of the foolishness of people like Nweze Umahi!
