The Niger Delta Avengers has claimed responsibility for attacks on two oil pipelines – Shell’s Forcado 48 export line and the Brass to Tebidaba Crude Oil Line in Bayelsa.


According to the group, the attack on Shell occurred at 3.00 am on Friday, June 3, 2016 while the Bayelsa pipeline attack occurred 30 minutes later. The Niger Delta Avengers says that oil giant, Shell refused to heed its warning to stop repair work on its Forcados facility.

“At 3:00 am today @NDAvengers blow up the SPDC forcados 48″ Exportline. We warned SPDC not to go ahead with repair works but they refuse,” the group announced micro-blogging website, Twitter.



“At about 3:30am our (@NDAvengers ) strike team Blow up the Brass to Tebidaba Crude oil line in Bayelsa..#BOOM.”
