UNN  ranks 13th in Africa in a new African univeristies' ranking
The University of Nigeria Nsukka gone up to the 13th rank in an updated Arican University ranking recently published. According to the spokesman of the university, Prof Obinna Onwujekwe, Chairman: Senate Research Grants Committee, the latest ranking of African universities and institutions based on publications and citations shows that UNN is now in number 13 in Africa.

"However, on the internet and web presence criterion, UNN is number three (3) in Africa. This ranking is based on research publications and citations from the last five years (2010 to 2014) as well as visibility on the internet.

"The ranking shows that the quality of publications from UNN has been improving over the years. We hope for continued improvement and higher ranking once the current momentum and reforms to promote publications in visible high impact journals are maintained.

"Kudos to the university administration and ICT centre for their resilience  and hard work. We're confident that UNN's ranking by WEBOMETRICS will also improve when the new UNN website is launched this month and all necessary documents uploaded."

Below is a list of top 20 ranked universities based on research publications and citations.
