Biafra-FRIGHTENED Okorocha hurriedly announces intention to pay 19 MONTHS pension arrears to dying Imo State retirees - TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!
Frightened by the massive Biafran protests in Imo State and the current undercurrent the state calling for his impeachment, Governor Rochas Okorocha has hurriedly announced his willingness to clear 19 months pension arrears owed to Imo State retirees. The announcement was released today as Okorocha fears he may soon be swept out of government.

Announcing the decision to start paying the pensions, Dr. Paschal Chigozie Obi (KSM), Principal Secretary to the Governor stated thus:

"Following the successful verification of all eligible pensioners in their various Autonomous Communities, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, OON has approved the immediate payment of pensions to all authentic pensioners.

"The full list of genuine pensioners shall be pasted on the notice board of the 27 Local Government Headquarters on Monday 16th November, 2015 while payment shall commence on Tuesday 17th November, 2015.

"All verified pensioners are directed to visit their Local Government Headquarters on Monday to confirm their status and thereafter collect their cheques accordingly.

"The payment process shall be supervised by the Chairmen of the State/Local Government Committee in each Local Government Area who shall also handle issues which may arise therefrom."

This is however too little too late for Okorocha. He is goner as far Imo residents are concerned. For the past four and half years he has been ruling Imo State, he had kept on promising to pay pension and gratuity arrears. Till date he has deliberately decided not to pay them. This has resulted in the deaths of any pensioners.

Okorocha's popularity in Imo State drastically dipped and is currently at sub-zero level, with immeasurable hardship and poverty causing the deaths of Imo citizens.

Members of the Imo State House who were in tandem with him have begun to against him.
