Breaking News! We are all Biafrans! South South youth leaders declare. Denounces
The youths leaders of South South zone have thrown their support behind Biafra. The youth leaders also denounced the Conference of Ethnic Nationalities of the South-South, who recently met at  Uyo, Akwa Ibom state to dissociate themselves from Biafra self-determination.

The youth leaders of the South South region under the aegis of the COALITION OF SOUTH SOUTH YOUTH LEADERS met in Calabar on Friday, 21st November, 2015 and after appraising the situation in the country and the claim by some unauthorized persons who claimed to be South South leaders that the South South is not part of Biafra, hereby state as follows

1 The entire South South region is part and parcel of Biafra land.

2 The South East and South South have common cultural and historic heritage,

3 We call for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, the Director of Radio Biafra

4 We warn the Nigerian Army not to do anything that will escalate the situation in the area.

5. We however still believe in one United Nigeria as long as justice and equity will prevail in the land.

That the name Biafra is sacrosanct and there is nothing wrong if the people of South East and South South decide they be called Biafrans but within Nigeria.

6 That Mr President should assure Biafrans that he does not hate them through his actions and conduct.

7 That nobody mandated those elements that went to Uyo recently to disclaim Biafra to speak on behalf of the South South. The South South was, is and will continue to be part of Biafra land but within Nigeria.

Buhari's money is TALKING: Some greedy, selfish and misguided elements from Itsekiri, Anang, Urhobo and Ijaw denounce Biafra

The Biafran early this week reported that the General Muhammadu Buhari-led government had earmarked a slush fund to the tune of 20 billion naira to launch media attack on Biafran protesters and the Indigenous People of People of Biafra (IPOB). The money is to be used to bribe corrupt Igbo 'elders; and traditional rulers, priests, pastors, and Biafran saboteurs who bandy themselves as Biafran War veterans. Media Houses in Nigeria will also be bought over to launch a coordinated media attack on Biafrans.

It was reported that some selfish, greedy and misguided elements of ethnic nationalities of the South- South geo-political zone, yesterday, denounced demands for Biafra by 'Igbo' in the South-East zone and called for an immediate cessation of Biafra protests on their soil.

In a 10-point communique issued at Uyo at the end of a meeting held under the auspices of the Conference of Ethnic Nationalities of the South-South at Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, chaired by HRM, Obong (Dr) EU Ekidem, Ntisong Ibibio III, the Ntisong of Ibibio land, they dissociated the South-South zone from the “so-called Biafra.”

'Representatives' [who exactly are they?] of Ibibio, Efik, Anang, Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo, Ikwerre, Oro, Isoko and several other nationalities attended the summit. Among them were the interim chair of the group, HRM Ekidem, Convener of the meeting and Secretary of the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILoT, Delta state, Barrister Edward Ekpoko, Albert Akpomudje, SAN (Urhobo) and president general of Ogbakor- Ikwerre in Rivers state, Prof A.M Onyeozu.

Pastor Nelson CocoBassey (Efik ethnic nationality), Ulap Bidiak Uloh (Oro ethnic nationality), Amechi Ogbonnia (Itsekiri), Obong Ukpong Umoh and Obong Aniedi Ndem were at the conference and signed the communique.

The South South nationalities said, “We will not allow any inch of the land of the ethnic nationalities mentioned above and other lands of the South-South to be part of the ill-thought-out enterprise.

“We call for a halt to demonstrations for Biafra on our land henceforth as it touches on the collective sensibilities of our people and could provoke ethnic crisis.

“We are not only surprised but shocked that Igbos who returned to Nigeria after the fall of Biafra in January 15, 1970 with tales of woes and horrors can talk about Biafra.”

They added: “It is in the interest of Igbos that Nigeria is protected as they have more investments outside their homeland.”

The Conference called on governors, political leaders and traditional rulers of the South-East geopolitical zone to “speak out now as their silence is becoming eloquent.” Furthermore, the South-South ethnic nationalities urged “well-meaning Igbos to call their children/wards to order to prevent an avoidable crisis.”

“We call on the law enforcement agencies to be more vigilant.

“We believe in one Nigeria and will do all within our power to protect the unity of Nigeria,” they stated.
