Buhari is the worst Petroleum Minister Nigeria had ever had. See what he said about fuel scarcity under Jonathan
As soon as General Muhammadu Buhari became Nigeria's Minister for Petroleum Resources, fuel scarcity hit the country. Currently a litre of petrol is selling between N200 -N300.

After approving over N400 billion naira for fuel subsidy, Nigeria has been hit by the worst fuel scarcity crisis in her history.
The sting of the current fuel crisis in Nigeria is so painful and confusedly managed that Buhari has been ranked as Nigeria's worst Petroleum Minister.

Despite the crisis in the petroleum sector, the minister who should be at home handling the crisis, prefers to gallivant to foreign countries.

Appallingly, ahead of the presidential elections earlier this year,  Buhari tweeted in response to the biting fuel scarcity that plagued the later days of former President Jonathan’s government.

That tweet has come back to bite. It also appears that CHANGE can be pretty expensive.

The Nigeria Senate, on Thursday gave Buhari, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other subordinating agencies two weeks to end the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country.

This was disclosed by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Downstream, Senator Uche Ekwunife, during a meeting with the Ministry of Petroleum and other relevant agencies over the current fuel scarcity being experienced across the country. ‎

Ekwunife said, “We are giving you a target of two weeks.

“The price discrepancy must stop and we are also mandating the M‎inister of Petroleum, head of agencies to stop the scarcity within two weeks.”

The Chairman also noted that the committee will look into the issue of subsidy payment and malfunctioned refineries in the country.

Lamenting the current fuel scarcity been faced, Ekwunife said the country had not had it this bad for a long time.
