The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu is panic-stricken. Couple of months after he threatened to drown Igbo-speaking people residing in Lagos, the International Criminal Court has commenced investigation of the incident.

Gov Fashola deported Igbo-speaking Biafrans from Lagos, Oba Akiolu threatened to drown every Igbo-speaking Biafran in Lagos Lagoon and the Zulu King ranted against African migrants in South Africa leading to the ongoing spate of attacks across South Africa.
The Oba of Lagos, Governor Raji Fashola of Lagos State and the Zulu king of South Africa have distinguished themselves as the xenophobic kings of Africa. The ongoing xenophobic attacks across cities of South Africa have been linked to an anti immigrant call by the Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini.

True to its threat, the International Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law (Intersociety) has dragged Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos, Governor Babatunde Fashola and Inspector General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, before the International Criminal Court (ICC). This is in connection with the Oba’s threat of last weekend that Igbos in Lagos would die in the Lagos Lagoon if they refused to vote for the candidate of his choice in tomorrow’s governorship election.

Nigeria's secret police, the Department of State Security has said it will take appropriate actions on controversial threat on the lives of Igbo-speaking Biafrans in Lagos State by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu. This was disclosed by spokesperson of the DSS, Marylyn Ogar, during a press session on National issues alongside Coordinator of the National Information Center, Mike Omeri, at the NIC premises Wednesday.

The embattled Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has been brought to his knees over his genocidal comments to drown Igbo-speaking Biafrans in the Lagos Lagos. Faced with the prospects of arrest and prosecution at The Hague, the Biafran-hating Oba decided to apologise. This was a sharp contrast to his earlier stance, which was to deny he never made such comments. However, with the release of audio and video evidence corroborating earlier reports the Oba of Lagos capitulated.

A church deacon and expert on police affairs who knows incumbent Oba of Lagos, Alhaji Rilwan Akiolu, very well has come out to expose him as an Igbo hater. Oba Akiolu has been in the eye of the storm since he told visiting Igbo chiefs in his palace over the weekend that any Igbo who does not vote his preferred candidate during this Saturday’s governorship election in the state would die in the Lagos Lagoon within seven days.

Igbo think tank Aka Ikenga has reported Oba of Lagos, Alhaji Rilwanu Akiolu, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies over his purported threat that Ndigbo in Lagos State would meet with death if they should fail to vote for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, during the April 11 polls.

Oba of Lagos, His Royal Highness Rilwan Akiolu, has opened up on the role he played in the alleged bribery of some Yoruba monarchs by late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, to frustrate the struggle against the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election believed to have been won by late business mogul, Chief MKO Abiola.
The monarch, who was the Lagos State Police Commissioner at the time, said that with the exception of one or two traditional rulers, other prominent Yoruba Obas collected bribe from the Abacha administration, declaring that he personally shared the money to the monarchs.
