Kanu’s stringent bail conditions: Consequences of Quota System in the appointment of Judges in Nigeria -Intersociety

Kanu’s stringent bail conditions: Consequences of Quota System in the appointment of Judges in Nigeria
(Intersociety, Onitsha Nigeria: 25th April 2017)-It is incurably defective and socially disastrous when a post SSCE student who scores 100 in the Joint Admission & Matriculation Board exams is admitted into the university to study a law course, for instance, with another student who scores 250 in the same exams. The former with lower mark and lower quotient is allowed admission because he or she comes from northern part of the country and benefits from the so called quota system allocations and considerations; while the latter is admitted under stringent conditions and marks requirements because he or she comes from the knowledgeable southern part of Nigeria. The consequences of the former on all spheres of Nigeria’s social development and conducts including the appointment and promotion of Judges in the country have remained irremediably grave till date.

Proposed Transfer Of Boko Haram Terror Suspects: A Case Against Imminence Of Massive Destruction Of Igbo Lives & Properties & Escalation Of Islamic Insurgency In Nigeria - InterSociety

Boko Haram detainees kept at a highly guarded DSS facility in Aso Rock once  attempted to break jail. There is no guarantee such attempts would not be tried in low security prisons in Anambra. Proposed Transfer Of Boko Haram Terror Suspects: A Case Against Imminence Of Massive Destruction Of Igbo Lives & Properties & Escalation Of Islamic Insurgency In Nigeria - InterSociety
Public Security & Safety, Onitsha Nigeria, 28th June 2015).

The proposed transfer to Anambra prisons (Onitsha, Awka and Ekwulobia) and other prisons in the Southeast zone, of some detained suspects of the Boko Haram Terror Insurgency leading to mass protests on Saturday, 27th June 2015 by Igbo traders based in Anambra State, is seen by the leadership ofInternational Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law as an infamous policy by the reactionary forces at the Federal Government aimed at massive destruction of Igbo lives and properties and escalation of Islamic insurgency in Nigeria; the alleged belated denial of such moves by the public relations office of the Nigerian Prisons Service notwithstanding.

InterSociety challenges outgoing governors on accountability: Calls out Fashola, T.A. Orji and Amaechi to account for their stewardship

This sacred demand of ours is further necessitated by shocking discoveries we made in the course of our recent investigations on the finances of the States in Nigeria; whereby most of the States were found enmeshed in serial borrowings and other indebtedness. Public financial records of the affected States as it concerns local borrowings were also found roguish and distorted. Many of the States under reference were found owing their retired and serving workforces billions of naira. Bauchi State, for instance, owes its workforce about N11billion.
