French Alps Crash: Despite earlier report no distress signal was sent from the Germanwings plane. Foul play suspected
Despite earlier reports, which had it that the Germanwings Airbus A320 plane sent out a distress signal at 10:45am local time before crashing in the French Alps at an altitude of about 2,000 metres (6,550 feet), it has been confirmed that no distress signal was sent from the Germanwings plane.

Germanwings A320 passenger plane crashes in Southern France. No survivors expected

According to a France24 correspondent, the Lufthansa-affiliated plane 'simply disappeared from the radar, without sending out any distress signal before crashing. This is fuelling speculations that the plane may have been sabotaged by terrorists.

An aviation expert on France24 stated that such sudden crash could have been as a result of a foul play from terrorists who have developed stealth bombs that could be hidden inside the body and escape detection. Such explosives could burst the plane and cause decompression at high altitudes that could cause crashes similar to that experienced by the Germanwings flight.
