Abia, Enugu resoundingly reject Buhari.

Anambra, Enugu resoundingly reject Buhari.
The people of the southeast have made resoundingly clear their rejection of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Mohammadu Buhari.

From recently released results from Enugu and Abia State, Buhari only managed to receive less than 1% of the votes cast, whereas President Goodluck Jonathan got over 90% of the votes.

President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has beaten Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a landslide in Saturday’s presidential election held in Abia State.

In Abia, Jonathan polled 368,303 of the 401,014 votes cast to beat Buhari, his closest rival, who scored 13,394 votes. The remaining 12 contenders shared the remaining votes.

This was announced by the Presidential Collation Officer, Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Ozumba stated that the 1,349,134 registered voters in Abia, only 407,482 were accredited for the poll, while 391,010 valid votes were cast and 10,004 voided.

In Enugu Jonathan got 553003 out of the 616112 votes cast, while Buhari got a paltry 14,157. Buhari's rejection in the southeast stems from the role he played in the killing of Biafrans during the Biafran-Nigerian War as well his jailing prominent Igbo politicians brief tyrannical junta of Nigeria in the early '80s.

Similar results are expected from other southeasetrn states, including Imo State, currently being controlled by the APC.
