Stop Fulani terrorists now before it is too late – Emir tells Buhari

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 said the activities of the Fulani Herdsmen were threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria, warning General Muhammadu Buhari to take a decisive action against the growing terrorist activities of the herdsmen.

The emir said if the federal government does not address the issue with the urgency it requires, another Boko Haram may spring up from the activities of the Herdsmen.

Gambari spoke when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited his palace in Ilorin during the foundation laying ceremony of the KAM integrated steel project.

The traditional ruler said if Buhari continues to maintain silence over the growing activities of the Fulani herdsmen, its overriding consequences may lead to incalculable loss in the country.

He warned the federal government to take serious action against the issue as it has become one of the greatest security threat to the people of Nigeria, especially the Southern states and the Middle Belt.

The Emir, who is the chairman of Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, raised his voice against the growing cases of herdsmen invasion in the country, saying it was necessary for the federal government to take urgent step to address the issue before it degenerated to become another Boko Haram.

Earlier, Professor Osinbajo said coming to Ilorin was home coming for him and commended the support received in Kwara State during the campaigns that brought in the present administration.

He added that the present administration would not relent in its efforts until all the electioneering campaigns were delivered to the people.
