An average Fulani man is either too mischievous or very incapable of reasoning. In a recent interview conducted by Vanguard, Alhaji Sagir Muhammad, the Waziri Ringim and the leader of defunct Arewa Peoples Congress (APC), opined that Igbos want to recolonise South South. Muhammad, known loyalist of former Nigerian dictator, General Ibrahim Babangida, based his argument that Igbo-speaking Biafrans have no other mineral resources apart from coal, the reason to go for crude oil in the South South. The retired  military  intelligence officer in his clearly warped reasoning, also stated that building houses in Igbo is very difficult because the entire region is thickly forested.

  • Central bank resists calls to devalue naira following oil drop
  • Currency restrictions hurting businesses, curbing output
Central bank Governor Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday resisted calls -- again -- to weaken the currency despite a plunge in oil prices that’s slashed revenue in Africa’s biggest crude producer. He stuck to his foreign-exchange restrictions that have led to capital flight, curbed output in the continent’s largest economy and led to the naira dropping to a record low on the black market.

Biafran taboo :‘’Follow, Follow syndrome’’

Biafran taboo :‘’Follow, Follow syndrome’’
Just because an idea or way of doing things is popular doesn’t mean it’s right for everyone. However, part of the way that something becomes popular is that many of us don’t take the time to determine what’s right for us; we simply do what most of the people we know are doing. In this way, our decisions about life are made by default, which means they aren’t what we call conscious decisions. There may be many other options available, but we don’t always take the time to explore them. This may be the result of feeling overwhelmed or pressured by family, peers, and humanity at large, to do things their way, the way things have always been done. Regardless of the cause, it is important that, as often as we can, we decide for ourselves what to do with our lives rather than just drift along on the current of popular opinion.

Nigerians bracing for Buhari's 2016 AUSTERITY
The last time the word austerity crept into the Nigerian polity was back in 1983-85, when Dictator Muhammadu Buhari was heading a military junta. Yet again in 2015, Nigerians are bracing for extreme austerity due to Buhari's mismanagement of Nigeria's highly choppy economy.

This was exacerbated by rapidly falling crude oil prices and Buhari's appointment of mediocres to manage the country's economy. The Financial Times recently described Buhari's economic policies as the "height of foolishness!".

The 'Zoo' Nigeria: A rudderless ship with no vital record for 63 Years: No Sound Population & Industrial Census. National Planning
One of the social maladies, if not the worse, bedeviling Nigeria of present socio-political dispensation is lack of sound general census (population and industrial) and national planning. This is compounded by lack of visionary political leadership and statesmanship. To the extent that on mere mentioning or appearance of a president of a country on international scenes; its national currency instantly loses value in money market; speaks of the enormity of the disaster of having a tinkerer as president; as opposed to other social climes where emergence of a visionary, thinker and statesman as president instantly leads to valuation of its national currency in money market and positive recoveries in its economy. In other words, Nigeria under the present civilian administration of Gen Muhammadu Buhari fundamentally lacks vision, statesmanship and sound national planning built on scientific and statistically grounded population and industrial census.
