Before going into this topic: Insecurity & Underdevelopment In Nigeria, it is important we understand the standard meaning of the word: security. Security is defined differently by various academic and social disciplines according to their uses, understandings and perceptions. But commonly, security means: safety; freedom from risk or danger; freedom from doubt, anxiety, fear or want. It also means confidence or something that gives or assures safety. It further means a sense or feeling of being secured. Section 14 (2) (b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 states: the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of the Government.

In my own point of view, the current dilemma of Igbo Lagosians is exactly what and how the minders of a unitary Nigeria, probably as advised by Britain, want it to be.

A biafran veteran Peter Ejirika has dragged Barrister Emeka Emekesiri to the British Bar Association for "misappropriations of the Intellectual Property of his clients". Emekkirisi is the leader of the BILIE Human Rights initiative currently in court with the Nigerian government over the rights of Biafrans.

IPOB London scares Willie Obiano away from London

Governor Willie Obiano, scheduled to attend an event in London was scared away from the event, when news got to him that Indigenous People of Biafra in London were preparing a 'welcome party' for him.

Obiano instead sent a representative to the event.

In a video shared online, which was made by one of the Biafrans who waited for Obiano at the event venue, he expressed his disappointment at Obiano's cowardice.

The Militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, on Wednesday took a swipe at the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, over his comments that the group killed and kidnap for no clear reasons.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the group, Mudoch Agbinibo, and posted on the group’s website, while denying the allegations, asked the presidential aide to get his facts right.
