A Biafran-built armoured tank. During the Biafra-Nigeria War, Biafran military hardware and weapons were mostly produced by the Biafran Research and Production (RAP) unit (Science and Technology (S&T) Group).
While Nigeria was busy buying weapons from Russia, Britain and other parts of the world, Biafran researchers, scientists and engineers were busy producing weapons such as Ogbunigwe, Ojukwu’s Bucket, Mpakala-P and Mpakala-L. Most of these technology advancements were undermined by subsequent Nigerian government to punish Biafrans.
Today Nigeria is still buying military hardware and equipment from foreign countries.
