The police boss stated this in Abuja during the IGP conference with the commands’ Commissioners of Police.The IGP said “since the traditional ruler has denied the allegation, I am not in any position to state otherwise.”

Despite various calls for the police to investigate the matter before it degenerated, the police told newsmen he cannot investigate the matter, because Akiolu denied making such threats. Akiolu had yesterday through his spin doctors made futile efforts to deny the incident. This forced the release of video and audio recordings that captured the Oba making such hateful and genocidal threats.
Does that mean that when someone commits a crime and denies it, the police will not be in a position to state otherwise? Or is it because the people they wish to kill are Biafrans (Igbo) so the police cannot investigate it?
There appears to be a different set of laws for Biafrans and others for Nigerians.

During the briefing the IGP stated that that three suspects have so far been arrested in Enugu in connection with the blast that took place during the Presidential election. He pledged to deploy more police personnel to Rivers and other volatile states as part of crucial efforts to prevent incessant political killings across the nation.
Abba also said 124 incidents were recorded over various electoral offences, and that some suspects had been charged to court, while the police would continue their investigations.
He said, “First of all, I must commend our officers and men for their performance in the last election. They exhibited high sense of professionalism, impartiality, and non-partisanship to a great level.
“We are here to encourage them to do more so that they don’t rubbish what they had already achieved. We are re-strategising on the crime prevention and control and that is why we are deploying more officers in states like Rivers and other volatile ones.
“We have so far arrested three suspects in connection with the Enugu bomb blast and so far, we have arrested 124 people for different electoral offences.”
He, however, regretted that there were some challenges during the March 28 election despite the fact that the police and other security agencies did their best to protect Independent National Electoral Commission, other important places, as well as the citizens.
“Our coming together here today will proffer solution to these problems and we will ensure that they don’t crop up in the coming election,” he said.
Abba said preliminary investigations had revealed that the late Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Minkaila Abdullahi, and some members of his family died of inferno, contrary to an allegation that it was a case of suspected sabotage.
He, however, said if subsequent investigations, especially medical reports, state otherwise, the Police would inform members of the public, adequately.
