Biafran Onslaught:  Resign Now! Civil Liberties Coalition urges Nigeria's Police boss
Fallout is continuing in Onitsha following the killings of peacefully protesting members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State for Biafra (MASSOB) by Nigerian security forces. Markets remain closed in and around Onitsha. Police roadblocks have been put in place on the roads.

Nkiruka Anthonia Ikeayionwu, 21, was killed  during the Biafra protest in Onitsha by combined team of Nigeria's security forces.
According to a Vanguard report, “a coalition of civil societies group has called for immediate resignation of the embattled Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr. Solomon Arase for his murderous shoot-at-sight order and vicarious roles in the Onitsha Killings of protesting IPOB members”.

“In a press statement released yesterday and signed by Emeka Umeagbalasi, the coordinating principal of the group, the coalition said it is equally important to inform that the Nigeria Police Force under Arase is already under the jurisdictional watch of the International Criminal Court as compilation and computation of cases of all police and military related extra judicial killings in the country are steadily in progress, adding, “for failing to heed our warning of 13th November 2015, we will be glad to ensure that IGP Arase and his named sub commanders are handcuffed and flown to The Hague soon for the purpose of making them to face international trial for crimes against humanity”.

The Nigerian Civil Liberties Coalition also called on IPOB members to remain nonviolent and law abiding at all times regardless of the violent actions of the Security forces. They urged IPOB and MASSOB to watch their backs because there are planted Federal Government Agents around them whose goal is to destroy their internationally acclaimed non-violent and peaceful approach.
