Boko Haram kingpin Senator Zanna is dead
Senator Ahmed Zanna, who represented Borno Central has died. He was aged 59. Zanna, fingered severally for being a Boko Haram sponsor, died early today in Abuja.



Some months ago, one of the wanted Boko Haram Commander, Shuaibu Mohammed Bama was arrested at the private residence of Senator Zanna

Bama was arrested when the Joint Task Force JTF Operating in Borno State storm the house of the serving senator who has been under serious watch by security forces for allegedly romancing and sponsoring the Boko Haram sect.

Zanna was once indicted by the former Police Commissioner in Borno State Simeion Midenda for finding some Boko Haram related materials in hands of Zanna’s supporters.

Senator Modu Sheriff, the former governor of Borno state, had once called security authorities to fully investigate that incident and Senator Zanna’s possible links with Boko Haram, insisting he is a Boko Haram kingpin.

He drew attention to Zanna’s “Hajj-by-road” activities for which, he said, the legislator was suspected to have used as a façade for the importation of arms and window for the training of terrorists.

Zanna had been admitted in Germany hospital for an undisclosed ailment.
