Dangers of counter Directive on boycott of Anambra Elections: Ohaneze vs IPOB

Governor Always-Drunk-Willie Obiano seeking re-election irked IPOB with his involvement in the massacre of Biafrans in Anambra State
The directive on boycott of election and the counter directive is assuming a funny but not funny dimension. Funny to the extent that a cold war on political relevance is ongoing. Not funny to the extent that some people may attain political menopause or early retirement in due course.
The two directives, either for or against will be determined by just one denominator, followership.

Looking at the two school of thought, those for boycott and those against boycott, casualty may differ. But surely there must be casualty.
Ohaneze has come out to say no, to boycott, the question one may want to ask is,' DO THEY HAVE A FOLLOWERSHIP STRUCTURE THAT WILL SUPPORT THEIR POSITION?
The Ohaneze leadership under Nwodo started on a very good note, but may be running into troubled waters ,if the directive not to boycott election lacks followership strength to sustain it. If the awareness in the southeast is anything to go by, I sincerely doubt If that call not to boycott will be heeded, like i said the situation as it presents itself now is squarely a battle on who commands followership.
The Ohaneze NDIGBO really needs to trade with caution to avoid losing the little respect they earned following the emergence of Nwodo as the new President of Ohaneze.
For the IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu's leadership, one would argue that If the call to boycott is not heeded to that it may affect His relevance in the Biafra struggle. The truth remains that IPOB may not lose anything strategic. Already they are of the opinion that votes don't count, that whether they participate or not ,the manipulators of the system through INEC will always concoct a figure to suggest that election was free, fair and credible, turning out millions of votes. Head or tail relevance wise, they have nothing much to lose. That is not to say that some anti IPOB interest group will not come out to argue that Biafrans did not heed the call of Nnamdi Kanu.

The recent test of strength and support for the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as was displayed by Afara ukwu Ibeku gathering of over a million Biafrans, makes it a near impossibility for the boycott order not to be heeded.

The Ohaneze leadership may be digging its own grave if their directive is not heeded. Already the southeast youths and IPOB member's sees Ohaneze as a gathering of expired bunch, who clings on govt patronage for retirement benefit. It will be sad and disheartening to see the new leadership of Ohaneze under most revered and respected Nwodo lose relevance and support so early in their tenure.
Times are different, certain issues should be handled with utmost diplomacy. Anybody who is still in doubt as to who is in control of affairs in biafra land, needs a rethink. MAZI NNAMDI KANU;remains the unapologetic leader, doubt it to your peril. Ohaneze should be a mediator and not a party to ideological dispute.
May wisdom prevail.
