The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has succeeded in stopping the trial judge handling Nnamdi Kanu's case. IPOB through its lawyer filed an appeal against the rulings of Justice John Tsoho, which they described as ridiculing the judiciary.

At the sitting today, lead counsel to Kanu, Chuks Muoma informed the court that his client has filed an appeal against the court’s ruling on Monday, March 7. Muoma said the application is for stay of proceedings against ruling of Federal High Court allowing the prosecution – Department of State Services (DSS) – to protect its witnesses.

However,  the prosecuting counsel, Mohammed Diri,  in his reply said he received a copy of the motion on notice on the stay of proceedings this morning. He said his team also needs time to respond to the motion filed by the defense.

In his ruling, Justice Tsoho adjourned the matter to Tuesday, April 6 for hearing on the defendant’s motion for stay of proceedings.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor one of the counsels to Kanu confirmed that they have filed a motion for stay off proceedings against Justice Tsoho. This implies that Justice John Tsoho will not be presiding over the case again, owing to his compromising stance and previous rulings.

Ejiofor revealed  that the appeal proceedings shall be taking place tomorrow.
