Biafra Rally shakes the Nigerian High Commission in London

Biafra Rally shakes the Nigerian High Commission in London
The Biafra Republic restoration movement may have received a huge boost and momentum following Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest upon his arrival in Nigeria by the DSS. The movement has gained significant global publicity in the past couple of weeks, and the action of the Nigerian government may have helped to internationalize the peaceful movement for the attainment of the Republic of Biafra. The arrest of Nnamdi Kanu has undoubtedly internationalized the Biafra movement. The longer he is kept in detention the more publicity is generated internationally and locally for the movement.
The Nigerian High Commission London yesterday was the staging ground for the largest demonstration in support of Biafra outside Nigeria. London Police struggled to contain the demonstrators and placed heavy barricades as supporters of Biafra staged the biggest rally in and around the High Commission in London. The protesters carried placards demanding for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu. They had blow horns and attracted lots of the London TV, Radio and Newspaper coverage. Some of the demonstrators had enlarged photos of Nnamdi kanu whom they referred to as a Political prisoner.

Part of the story circulating on the Social Media was that the removal of Rivers State Governor by the Election Tribunal may be part of the plan to remove Wike seen as an obstacle against the planned Mosque development in Port Harcourt. Conspiracy theories making rounds on the Social media is that Wike may block such plan to build the largest Mosque in Nigeria in Port Harcourt which may have been supported by the former APC government of Rivers led by Governor Amaechi.

According to a report on the Igbere TV News, “Following the judgment of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal that nullified the election of Governor Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), revelations have surfaced about a grand plot to build Nigeria’s biggest mosque in State’s capital city of Port Harcourt. According to the source, Wike would be an obstacle to this development and hence it was necessary to remove him to facilitate the development which would be used as a model Moslem Community Development to showcase to the world.

Igberetvnews said, “According to sources, the plan, which dates back to 2012, is to repossess a large portion of old Port Harcourt Township from the popular Aggrey road, through Victoria to Bonny Streets and unto Creek road and convert it to a new development to be called Great Dawatul City. The developers of the project, which will have Nigeria’s largest Mosque, 6,000 units of 3 and 5 bedroom residential duplexes and world class business arcades as its star attractions intend to use it as a global model to showcase and redefine Islam as a progressive religion in cosmopolitan cities around the world” Source: Igberetvnews.com
