Tom Elliott and Danny Kinahan
A parliamentary motion has been filed by two MPs of the Ulster Unionist Party (UPP), Tom Elliott and Danny Kinahan.
The motion is that this “House recognises the calls for the independence of territories that constituted the Biafran republic.”

“The Biafran issue could be improved with the cooperation of the Nigerian government by offering a referendum; and urges the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to use its diplomatic strength to assist in the resolution of this matter.”
Elliott is a former British army officer and a former leader of the UUP. He is married with two children.
Danny Kinahan |
Kinahan is a new member of parliament who was elected at the last election in May this year. Like Elliott, he is a former soldier and is married with four children.
