Disappointed Iranian President Rouhani calls Buhari over slaughter of Shia Muslims by his soldiers |
Iranian media have reported that President Hassan Rouhani of Iran has called up Nigeria's General Muhammadu Buhari over a military crackdown on Nigeria's main Shia sect that, it is alleged, has left hundreds dead, the AFP news agency reports.
Rouhani has been quoted as saying "minor disputes must not be allowed to turn into deep differences".
On Monday, Shia-dominated Iran summoned a Nigerian diplomat in Tehran to protest against the crackdown.
