Amaechi chased out of Kalabari towns. Declared persona non grata by Ijaw youths
Governor of Rivers state, Chibuike Amaechi was on Friday stampeded by thousands of Ijaw youths who refused him entry into all Kalabari communities he tried to campaign in.

Rising Tide reporters on the ground confirm that the youths of Abonnema, Abalama, Ido and Buguma, chanted "SABOTEUR!", "JUDAS" and "Ama-deribo" as they booed the entourage out of their communities.

 In Abonnema, the governor was to be received by a state commissioner Mr. Isoboye Jack. Mr. Jack. Visibly angry Jack, described the youth as sponsored PDP elements who are bent on causing chaos in the community. He described the incident as an embarrassment to the Ijaw people and blamed the minister of sports for the incident.

In Buguma, over two thousand youth blocked the entrance into the community from Ido town immediately they got information that Gov. Amaechi was on his way to Buguma after being turned back from Abonnemma. The Buguma youths declared Amaechi a persona non grata in Ijawland until he vacates as governor on May 29, 2015. A leader of the IYC in Kalabari, Kio Barango described Amaechi's visit to Kalabari as an insult and an attempt to provoke Ijaw people after his role in the loss of President Jonathan at the polls.

Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, CTC chairman of the LGA led the governor back to his waiting vehicle when the military and other security agencies advised that the governor leave the area immediately before the situation deteriorates.

Immediately after the Gov. Amaechi left, thugs loyal to Mr. Isoboye Jack in Abonnema started shooting at the waterfronts before  JTF moved in to restore order. In Buguma, thugs loyal to Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, the CTC chairman are still shooting. The leadership of the PDP in Asari-Toru LGA has asked their supporters to be calm.

Alabo Kelly, a PDP stalwart in the region spoke to our correspondent; he said "We know their plan.

Gov. Amaechi came here to try provoking our people and causing chaos. Their thugs are shooting and they expect youths in the community to retaliate but we will not. Their sole aim is to disrupt the election, and we will not allow that happen. Let the military do their job."

President of the Kalabari Youth Coalition, Anji Amachree said the Kalabari people are fully behind Barr. Nyesom Wike of the PDP. He described Wike as "a good leader who stood by our brother, Jonathan to the end."
