Editorial: Buhari's 'missing' certificate and his fraudulent traits
The Nigerian Army, yesterday at the risk of shooting itself in the foot came out boldly to refute claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s flag-bearer Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) that they were in possession of his certificates.  The army through the Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Brig-Gen. Olajide Laleye, said it is was neither in possession of the original or photocopies of Buhari's West African School Certificate (WASC) with which he enrolled in the Nigerian Military Training College in 1962.
At a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the Army spokesman stated it has just a letter from the Principal of Buhari’s secondary school, dated 1961, recommending him for enlistment into the military school (Watch Video below).

Like a pack of cards, the decadal fraud he perpetuated in 1962 is crashing down on Buhari's head. He built his house on a faulty foundation. He came into the military on falsehood as a result of northern Nigeria nepotism, rose through the ranks of the military to a point that he was able to organise a coupd d'état and became the head of state of Nigeria.

This emerging cover up by the Nigerian military is a mere tip of the iceberg of how the Northern Nigeria has controlled the rest of Nigeria right from independence. It shows the potency of the Northern Oligarchy of how a school dropout or dunce could be propped up to become a leader of a nation. Needless to say that this has been the bane of Nigeria were unqualified people are placed above the qualified ones because of their nationality (ethnicity).

The Buhari's fraudulent affidavit: Classical case of perjury
This certificate scandal has heavily punctured Buhari's much touted credibility by his loyalists. Buhari had claimed in an affidavit he deposed before an Abuja High Court, that all his certificates were with the Secretary, Military Board.  In the affidavit, Buhari declared: “I am the above-named person and deponent to this affidavit therein. All my academic qualifications documents as filled in my presidential form, President APC/001/2015, are currently with the Secretary, Military Board, as of the time of presenting this affidavit.

“The affidavit is made in good faith and for record purpose. The affidavit is made in good faith and for record purposes.”

By this singular act Buhari had perjured himself before the law. By knowingly claiming his certificates were with the military when he knew he never submitted any to them is a classical case of perjury that will send him to jail if proven.

Buhari had continued to dance around the issue, and his apologists are making light the gravity of it.

Buhari and his loyalists however forgot that one cannot be aspiring to lead a country when he has no respect for the constitution.
Buhari is flouting a basic requirements of the constitution and expecting to wage an anti corruption war if he wins. Does he understand that he has already committed a corrupt act?

Even if Buhari has obtained a PhD and triple masters degrees, the mere fact that he apparently did not sit for his secondary school examination (WASC),which a prerequisite will lead to the withdrawal of such certificates fraudulently acquired.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should do the needful and immediately disqaulify Muhammadu Buhari as a candidate in the forthcoming Nigeria presidential election.
