Nigeria impounds Chad-bound plane laden with arms

Nigeria's security operatives on Saturday, intercepted a Russian plane carrying arms and ammunition at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano. The plane, which was headed to N’djamena, the capital of Chad, landed in Kano at about 2 a.m.


The crew were subsequently taken into custody, according to a security operative who seeks anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Chad has been linked as a supplier of arms to the Boko Haram terrorists group.
