Exit vote: Jonathan in early lead

Unconfirmed reports have it that President Goodluck Jonathan is leading in early votes so far released. Results show that whereas General Buhari is predictably leading in core northern states, Jonathan made strong in roads in Buhari's strongholds while maintaining significant leads in his strongholds in the Southeast, Southwest and North Central. Results from each state are shown below.

ON 17 JANUARY, 1966, the former civilian Federal Government of Nigeria handed over power to the Armed Forces. Major-General J. T. U.
