Pastor Tunde Bakare slams Northern elders over opposition to restructuring


Tunde Bakare, the general overseer of Latter Rain Assembly, has flayed Northern elders who are opposed to the call for Nigeria’s restructuring.

Bakare spoke on Friday, July 29, 2016 in Ibadan at an event organised to mark the 50th year anniversary of the assassination of the first military governor of the defunct Western Region, Lt.-Col. Adekunle Fajuyi.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has again reiterated that the restructuring of the country’s system was inevitable.

Atiku, who said this at the Memorial Conference of the former military Governor of the defunct Northern Region, Late General Hassan Usman Katsina on Saturday, said the fragile unity of the country was being threatened with sentiments.

Former Anambra State governor, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife has described the recent letter to President Muhammadu Buhari by the northern elders wherein they claimed “short changed” in capital budgetary allocations as “unnecessary”, and arising from their “studied” notice of the dominance of the three zones of the North, especially the North west in budgetary allocations.

Northern Elders gun for Jonathan: Wants  former president and service chiefs tried for genocide for fighting Boko Haram
Northern elders from Borno State under the aegis of Borno Elders Forum, led by Gaji Galtimari, a retired ambassador, have accused the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan of deliberately allowing Boko Haram to massacre the people of Northeast Nigeria.

They therefore want  Jonathan and his service chiefs tried for genocide.
