Current atrocious acts
of the terrorist Islamic State (ISIS) should be a source of great concern to
Biafrans. The media and blogosphere have been awash with gruesome images of beheading, mass executions and the spilling of bloods of innocent civilians,
whose only offence was their refusal to convert to Islam. Yesterday, the world was chilled with a video
showing the gruesome murder of a United States journalist, James Foley by ISIS.
Last week over 300 Yazidi people were slaughtered by ISIS after their refusalto convert to Islam.
A day before the Yazidi massacre, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which has consistently tracked violence on both sides of the three-year-old Syrian civil war, reported that around 700 members of the al-Sheitaat tribe, from theDeir al-Zor province, have been beheaded by ISIS jihadists.

Appallingly, very many
Biafrans are still unaware of the dangers such actions taking place many
thousands of kilometres away from their lands and albeit in another continent
pose to them. While Britain that has a handful of her citizens fighting for the
ISIS, and the United States are running helter-skelter plotting on how to stop
ISIS on their tracks, Biafrans that already have the full army of Boko Haram, which
is a branch of ISIS on her doorstep, are surprisingly very complacent about the
unfolding situation.
Although ISIS is
currently battling for a stronghold in the Middle East, its tentacles and
influence is quickly spreading across the world. Their increasing influence is
bolstering other Islamic terrorist organisations across the world, such as the
Boko Haram that has sworn to kill every Biafran in order to make Nigeria an
Islamic emirate. ISIS is demonstrating to other jihadists group on how to persecute
their ‘enemies’.
The following are some
of the inexhaustible reasons why Biafrans should be wary of events in Iraq:
Boko
Haram shares same warped Ideology with ISIS
Boko Haram and ISIS
share similar religious ideology that promotes Islam with the most virulent and
extremist level of violence that could only come from the deepest pit of hell.
They lack human empathy and have demonstrated that they are being controlled by
the worst of the demons hell has ever produced. Spilling innocent bloods gives
them unprecedented high. They have sworn to wipe away Christians from the face
of the earth. Their watchword is kill . . .kill. . .kill!
Boko Haram would
therefore replicate what ISIS is doing in Iraq if they are allowed to set foot
on Biafra.
Biafrans
are Boko Haram’s Enemy Number 1!
Biafrans are the prime
targets of Boko Haram. They have shown this in deeds and words. The core agenda
of the Noko Haram is to dip the Koran in the Atlantic Ocean. The jihadists hate
Biafrans because they are the only stumbling block to the jihadists quest to
Islamise Nigeria. Boko Haram insurgency commenced with the brutal killings of
Biafrans in various parts of northern Nigeria, until they chased away almost
every Biafran from the far North. In their current quest to get to Biafrans in
their homelands, they are at the moment eliminating northern Christians and moderate
Muslims (who by the way were tacitly supporting Boko Haram, when they were
massacring Biafrans in the North), who they perceive to be standing on their
march towards Biafra. Boko Haram was allowed to fester in Northern Nigeria
because of the inane belief that they were after Biafrans, who have been facing
persecutions in Nigeria since the 50’s. This has temporarily backfired, as Boko Haram
has turned its guns on them as they believe some of them are not tuned to their
Islamic ideology. But that is not to say they have lost sight of their prime
targets – the Biafrans. Biafrans should rather view this with a sense of
concern.
Ultimately, as soon as
Boko Haram gets a strong hold in the Northeast of Nigeria (as ISIS has done in
Iraq), which they are about to do in a couple of months, based on ongoing
events, they will commence their march towards Biafra.
Nigerian
Army cannot defend Biafra
Many Biafrans are
relying on the propaganda-based ‘might’ of the Nigerian Army for security. However,
the currently ragtag Nigerian Army lacks the capacity to defend Biafrans
against oncoming Boko Haram onslaught. Just as Iraqi Army failed the Yazidi’s
and other tribes in northern Iraq so would Nigerian Army fail Biafrans. Today
it emerged that Nigerian soldiers are running away from Boko Haram and have
refused to deploy to battle grounds to confront Boko Haram. That is a clear
indication that Boko Haram has mentally defeated Nigerian Army. Morale in the military
is a basic and important weapon of warfare. Once there has been a mental
defeat, it would only be a matter of time before the frightened army would be overrun.
It was the same tactics that made Iraqi soldiers to abandon the northern tribes
of Iraq, leaving them at the mercy of ISIS.
A Nigerian soldier recently confessed to the
BBC Hausa service that “Soldiers are dying like fowl,” the soldier, who said “The
Nigerian army is not ready to fight Boko Haram,” he said, explaining that
soldiers were not being given enough weapons and ammunition to take them on.
“Boko Haram are inside the bush,
everywhere,” he said “They [senior commanders] are sacrificing soldiers,” he
said.
Even the vehicles the soldiers
were expected to use were old armoured cars that were not up to the job, he
added.
In
addition half of current Nigerian Army and security forces are made up of Boko
Haram sympathisers, who have been primed to switch sides at the appropriate
time – albeit very soon.
Biafrans must start
making preparations on how to defend itself.
War has been declared on them, only the myopic are yet to see it.
