Blessing Joseph lies on a sofa, her eyes fixed on the butt of a rifle that she says she won't hesitate to use if Fulani herdsmen come back to her remote village in central Nigeria.

The 19-year-old student isn't the only one. Teenagers and even young boys carry machetes and daggers in villages in the Agatu area of Benue state.

Having heard the overwhelming call of the people to combat Fulani terrorism, the Ebonyi State Government yesterday banned the arrival of cattle into the state by herdsmen. Governor David Umahi told newsmen that the decision to stop cattle rearing in the state was because there is tension in the state over the recent activities of herdsmen in the country.

Femi Fani- Kayode has asked the Northern governors and other leaders from their zone to call the terrorist Fulani Herdsmen who have been terrorizing persons from other parts of the country to order. Fani- Kayode who noted that the warning has become imperative, said that the action of Fulani Herdsmen could lead to retaliation, adding that enough is enough.
