Nnamdi Kanu walks slowly across the courtyard of his family home in Umuahia, southeast Nigeria, as a crowd of supporters in the red, black and green of the Biafran flag hail him as their saviour.

Eighteen months in custody does not appear to have affected his fight against Nigeria.

"I am more determined than ever," Kanu, who heads the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement, tells AFP calmly.

A leading United Kingdom-based news paper, the Daily Mail has shredded General Muhammadu Buhari's anti-corruption credentials. This is coming as Buhari is expected to visit the UK for an anti corruption summit this week. Mail on Sunday tagged Buhari a "self-proclaimed 'peoples president" describing him as hypocritical because his tries to present the appearance of an austere politician in the public, while secretly his family lives ostentatious lifestyle.
