Tension as Cameroon announces support for Biafra. Grants unrestricted sea access to Biafra

Cameroon announces support for Biafra. Opens sea access to Biafra
A Cameroonian separatist group has thrown its weight behind the agitation for the restoration of the Republic of Biafra, in neighbouring Nigeria, News Express has learnt.

The group, Rufasca, which  is working for the independence of the people of Southern Cameroon, has entered into an alliance with the Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL), one of the many groups currently campaigning for the restoration of Biafra.

“Rufasca is seeking to collaborate with us in the best interest of the people of Southern Cameroon otherwise known as Ambazonia,” BNYL National President, Comrade Prince Chimezie Obuka, told News Express.

“Rufasca has not only allied with us, but they are now part of BNYL representing the interest of Ambazonia. With them in the movement and the BNYL at large, the Nigerian Government will find it difficult denying Biafra access to the sea,” Obuka said.

He disclosed that a Rufasca delegation will attend the BNYL Congress scheduled to hold on February 27, 2016 in Ikom, Cross River State.

Comrade Obuka welcomed the alliance with Rufasca, explaining that the people of Southern Cameroon and Eastern Nigeria share a common history.

“The name Ambazonia is gotten from the Ambas bay in the Bight of Biafra. Southern Cameroon occupies the largest portion of the Bight of Biafra. And they equally want to pull out from Cameroon. We have shared common history as they were administered alongside Eastern Nigeria under the NCNC led by Nnamdi Azikiwe. Our last leakage is Biafra’s coastal line. With the help of Rufasca, there is hope for the people of Bakassi,” the BNYL National President stated.

The announcement of this strategic alliance is expectedly causing serious tension in the Nigerian seat of power.
