| Breaking News! Up to 60 killed in suicide bombings in Nigeria refugee camp – reports |
At least 56 people were killed in northeast Nigeria on Tuesday when two female suicide bombers blew themselves up in a refugee camp, officials revealed on Wednesday.
Reuters' sources put the death toll at over 60 people. The tragedy at the Dikwa refugee camp was only disclosed Wednesday because of a disrupted telephone line.
At least 78 more people were wounded in the twin bombing, AP reports citing health officials.
The Dikwa camp in the Borno State hosts some 50,000 people. It is just 85 kilometers away of Maiduguri, the biggest city in the region and birthplace of Boko Haram.
