Okorocha's wife flees Owerri amidst raging Biafran protests |
Governor Rochas Okorocha's wife Nneoma
Okorocha has allegedly fled Imo State amidst the Biafran protests sweeping
across Biafra land. Naijiant.com reports that the governor of Imo State believes
that Biafrans will soon move against him.
According to the report, Okorocha is of the opinion that if the protest is allowed to hold in Imo State, he may be lynched by Imo indigenes, who are fed up with him and have openly expressed their dissatisfaction with Okorocha’s government that has ruined the state.
Okorocha has since been making frantic
efforts to scuttle the ongoing Biafran Revolution. The Biafran gathered that
Okorocha has been running from pillar to post to organise a meeting of South
Eastern governors with some elements of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and other pro-Buhari
supporters masquerading as Supreme Elders Council of the Indigenous People of
Biafra. The meeting, which has since been denounced by the IPOB directorate as
a gathering of fraudsters and saboteurs has hurriedly been postponed and venue
moved to Enugu to avoid attracting the anger of Biafran youths.
The Naijiant.com report, which was
probably sponsored by Okorocha to cast Biafrans peacefully protesting across
their land in bad light reads in part "We have been informed of a secret
plot by members of the 'Independent' People of Biafra (IPOB) to lynch the
governor of Imo State and his Anambra State counterpart Willie Obiano.
“Agents of the Department of State
Security (DSS) are reported to have “flooded” into Owerri, the Imo State
capital to protect the governor.
“A source in Owerri claims that thousands
of IPOB members intend to “storm” the state capital and capture Okorocha, under
the guise of the spate of protests in southeast Nigeria over the arrest of
Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra and leader of IPOB.”
“Okorocha
- very afraid!”
“The information we have received
indicates that the IPOB are claiming that Okorocha was ‘planted to ruin
Igboland’ and he must leave or be killed.

Okorocha escapes to London Nneoma Okorocha
His wife, Nneoma Okorocha, is said to have
already fled Owerri for London this past weekend.
“Okorocha has become aware of the plans to
make him a victim of “boys oye” mob justice and is said to be very afraid. He
has called a meeting of the governors from the southeast to plan how to address
the threat posed by the IPOB and their pro-Biafran sympathisers.
Obiano:
a target too?
To sex up the rumour Okorocha decided to
drag Willie Obiano as an anti- Biafran accomplice.
Naijiant.com repots stated the following:
“it is not clear at the time of writing whether the plans to attack Obiano have
reached an advanced stage. But the information we received indicates that
Obiano has become a “marked man” because the IPOB see him as wanting to “join
Okorocha in the The All Progressives Congress (APC)”. The APC is reportedly
unpopular in the southeast and many believe Okorocha won re-election under the
party’s banner through massive electoral fraud.
“Nnamdi Kanu on Radio Biafra usually
referred to Okorocha as ‘Okoro-awusa’, implying he is more Hausa than Igbo.
According to Kanu and his followers and their hate messages, the ‘enemy’ is
‘Awusa-Fulani and their Yoruba slaves’.
“IPOB supporters are demanding Obiano
steps down and leaves Igboland with Okorocha. Their stance has to be taken
seriously when the mobs that have been demonstrating in large numbers over
Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest in the major cities of the southeast is taken into
account.
“It is estimated by some that over a
million people took to the streets of Aba today and had the city on lockdown.
Government offices were shut down and a source in Aba informed Naijiant that
Nigerian flags were taken down in official buildings and replaced with Biafran
flags. The crowds couldn’t be contained by the police and army who reportedly
fled. The source also claimed that CNN reporters were covering the protests,
while the government-owned Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has barely given
them any coverage.”
The Biafran has confirmed that there is no
grain to the report. Recall that a peaceful Biafran protest swept from Agbor
through Onitsha and Awka (the Anambra State seat of power) before reaching
Enugu. Although Governor Obiano was reported to have fled the Anambra State
Government House as the Biafrans approached Awka, no attack was launched at him
or his cohorts.
The Directorate of the IPOB have denounced
the Naijiant report as untrue and deceitful. This was made public in a Radio
Biafra broadcast anchored by Uche Mefor, the Deputy Director of the Biafran
Radio Station, who doubles as the Deputy Leader of the IPOB, monitored by one
of our reporters, yesterday. The IPOB stated that Okorocha is afraid and
running when no one was pursuing him. According to IPOB Directorate, Okorocha
is planting stories in junk newspapers to castigate Biafrans so he can continue
to perpetrate atrocities in Biafra.
