Anti-Igbo policy: Buhari appoints Hausa-Fulani Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu as NSCDC Boss ahead of his Igbo boss

ANti-Igbo policy: Buhari appoints Hausa-Fulani Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu as NSCDC Boss ahead of his Igbo boss
In continuation of his anti-Igbo/Biafran policy, Buhari few days ago fired the Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Dr. Ade Abolurin, and replaced him with a Hausa'Fulani subordinate. In yet another clear case of nepotism, Buhari approved the appointment of Mr. Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu as the new Commandant-General of the NSCDC, while by-passing his Igbo senior, Evan Chidi Ewurum, who was described as the engine of NSCDC and poised to takeover from Abolurin.

The Imo State-born Ewurum has 3 Masters degree and just concluded a PhD research. As the Deputy Commandant-General Operation and he was technically in-charge of NSCDC since October, 2014, when his boss Abolurin had a domestic accident.

On the other hand, Muhammadu hails from Muye in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State and was an Assistant Commandant-General of the NSCDC before his new appointment. He holds a B.Sc in Sociology from the University of Sokoto and a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria,

A senior officer of the NSCDC told our 247ureport that the appointment is already generating another heat at the national headquarters of the agency.

Some of the angry staff of NSCDC believed that the new CG is not qualified for the position given his academic qualification and experience.

When 247ureport correspondent visited the headquarters some Hausa/Fulani officers and men of the agency who are loyal to Muhammadu were in jubilation and singing “basu gu du, su gu du” meaning anybody that want to run should run from the NSCDC.

Since his inauguration Buhari has exhibited extreme level of nepotism. Over 95% of all the appointments he has made in the past few months have been given to people from his ethnic background.
