Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is posturing to be the new Sultan Mehmed II using rhetorics akin to Adolf Hitler. Sultan Mehmed II was arguably the most powerful of the Sultan's from Turkey who established the Ottoman Empire that reached various parts of the world including Europe. At the age of 21, Sultan Mehmed II conquered Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul) from Christians and brought an end to the Byzantine Empire. Mehmed continued his conquests in Anatolia with its reunification, and in Southeast Europe as far west as Bosnia. During the rise of the 2nd Reich Hitler was hitting back at opposition, suppressing and subduing them alongside the press with the world watching without understanding.
