| Nyako's Monumental Fraud: How Murtala Nyako (Buhari's main moneybags) defrauded Adamawa state funds |
On October 10, 2011 a petition signed by a good and responsible citizen alerted
the Government of the criminal enterprise being run by General Murtala Nyako.
The detailed petition alleged that since 2007 General Nyako mismanaged and
misappropriated over N244 billion belonging to the state of Adamawa. The
strategy being deployed by General Nyako included the shameless use of his
children to launder money, setting up of the Special Programme and Project Unit
(SPPU), the looting of Local Government and unprecedented inflation of
contracts. For example General Nyako spent N3.5billion on the construction of
the 7 kilometer Shagari Road.
