Biafran journalist could not resist the rare opportunity presented at the court yesterday to conduct a quick interview with Nnamdi Kanu, the leading Biafran nationalist. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra/Biafra Television appeared in a Federal High Court Abuja yesterday fro the continuation of his trial over phantom charges of treason brought against him by the Nigerian Government. Biafran journalists, Ibeh Gift Amarachi and Okonkwo Somto Isaac connered Kanu to conduct a quick interview.

Uchechi Okwu-Kanu, the wife of Radio Biafra director and leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu who was arrested by DSS on his arrival to Nigeria in October, has expressed concern over the stretched detention of her husband, who according to her "is a prisoner of conscience". Uchechi Okwu-Kanu told IBTimes UK she fears for her husband's well-being and alleged he is being tortured by the Nigerian state security service (DSS).
