Buhari's clumsiness made Lassa fever DEADLIER than Ebola
The Nigerian government recently confirmed that 72 people have so far died in a Lassa fever outbreak since August 2015. With 212 people still suffering from the disease, more deaths are expected. Although a viral haemorrhagic illness, Lassa fever with a case of about 15% is no way near the Ebola virus that boast of almost 70% fatality rate.

Sierra Leonean president, Ernest Bai Koroma has blasted the global community over the lacklustre attitude it has adopted over the Ebola outbreak ravaging his country and other neighbouring countries in West Africa. Koroma stated that the global response to the Ebola epidemic Thursday was slower than the transmission of the virus.

US using Ebola to advance its imperialist agenda in Africa: Azikiwe

The United States is using the epidemic of the Ebola virus to advance its imperialist agenda in West Africa, a civil rights activist and journalist in Detroit says.

Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday while commenting on President Barack Obama’s announcement that the US military will be involved in tackling the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, arguing that it represents a serious national security concern.

Russia already has a vaccine against Ebola that has proved to be successful
A team of Russian virologists, epidemiologists and bacteriologists is leaving for Africa to organize laboratory diagnosis of the Ebola virus in Guinea, where the outbreak of the deadly fever is spreading fast.

Russia’s consumer watchdog Rospotrbnadzor is dispatching a mobile laboratory to Guinea to help contain the Ebola hemorrhagic fever virus in response to a direct request from Guinea’s government.

The cargo jet to Guinea’s capital Conakry leaves from Moscow’s Ramenskoye airfield on Thursday evening.
