Biafra and Turkey relationship: Nigerians Blast Buhari for lobbying Turkish President with a  perfunctory congratulatory message
The relationship currently being forged by Biafrans with the Turkish government has forced 'General' Muhammadu Buhari to send a hasty congratulatory message to the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his foresight in conducting a referendum where Turkish people were given the chance to make a change in their constitution.

This ill-thought out message runs contrary to Buhari's vehement stance against a referendum for Biafra Republic or even calling for a Sovereign National Conference where Nigerians will be given the opportunity to decide their future.

According to a statement issued by Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Monday said Buhari particularly congratulated President Erdogan for his foresight. Buhari commended Erdogan for his maturity in leading his people to the polls to decide on the future of leadership for the country that would further deepen peace and stability.

According to him, the referendum showcases the democratic credentials of the country and reflects a willingness of the Turkish people to live together and jointly pursue a better future. Erdogan won 51.3 per cent of the votes in a referendum on Sunday to grant him sweeping powers in the biggest overhaul of modern Turkish politics. However, opposition parties said the exercise was marred by irregularities, adding that they would challenge its result. “Turkey’s mainly Kurdish southeast and its three main cities, including the capital Ankara and the largest city Istanbul, looked set to vote No, after a bitter and divisive campaign,’’ a local newspaper reported on Sunday.
However, many Nigerians have responded, branding Buhari a hypocirte who suppresses democratic process in Nigeria:

"The President commended Erdogan for his maturity in leading his people to the polls to decide on the future of leadership for the country that would further deepen peace and stability."
Did you hear that coming from a president vehemently opposed to a referendum or restructuring that could usher in peace for millions of people. This man want to die as the most hated Nigerian president ever.

Buhari's government is a joke-- nothing but a joke! How many world leaders are congratulating Turkey for a simple referendom? Did Buhari congratulate UK for Brexit? Does this mean Buhari is in support of referendom here at home too especially for those regions that no longer want to be part of Nigeria state? Jobless government!!

51.3% votes not good enough for an incumbent..

Buhari, you sent congratulatory message to Turkey while you have blindly refused to keep any democratic norm. I think something is wrong with you.

Trump only put a private call to Erdogan probably because of the issues with Syria. Angel Merkel was diplomatic and suave because of Turkey's decision to accommodate refugees from troubled Syria. In fact many other EU countries were sceptical about the outcome of the referendum.
So, what is Buhari's reason for rushing to congratulate Erdogan in an election EU Observers claimed curtailed fundamental freedoms. Monitors report the constitutional referendum took place on unlevel playing field and campaigners did not have equal opportunities.
Reports also confirmed a number of irregularities which include counting of unstamped ballots, and restriction of media outlets and arrest of journalists.
If Buhari was quick to applaud a flawed referendum what is stopping him from holding one for the separatist Biafrans or holding a referendum on Nigeria? Just asking!

What is his business with the referendum in Turkey? The President should know when to keep quiet instead of poking his nose into other people's problems
