Dark clouds settle over Buhari's Nigeria as hunger-stricken families resort to stealing pots of soup to survive

Dark clouds settle over Buhari's Nigeria as hunger-stricken families resort to stealing pots of soup to survive
General' Muhammadu Buhari's ineptitude and wickedness have finally succeeded in pushing Nigeria to the brink of hell! The unprecedented hardship in Nigeria at the moment has reached a level that many families go to bed hungry. The degree of hunger has increased to the extent that families have resorted to stealing pots of soup to survive.
In Mpape, a suburb of the Nigeria's capital, Abuja and located just less than 10km from the Presidential villa, a man and his two children have allegedly stolen a pot of soup from where a resident was cooking, Daily Trust. The incident happened along Mashafa road in the area on Monday.

Nigerians, prepare for revolution

The owner, identified only as Femi, said he was stunned to find the man and his family already eating his ogbono soup which they stole when he stepped into his house to get salt.

He said due to his astonishment, he could not do anything but watch as the family ate the soup with akpu which he said they must have brought along with them.

“I was cooking in the compound and went into the room to get salt, that was when they took the pot of soup and before I could ask, they were already eating the soup with their akpu,’’ he said.

Femi explained that the father later apologised, saying they were hungry and had nothing to eat.
“I had no choice than to leave them with it, but they should not have taken everything,” he said. He continued in Pidgin English, “The thing pained me. I am also managing and had to look for the money for that soup and they just took everything.’’
He said he only asked them to return the pot after they had helped themselves with its content.

Buhari's who is suffering from ear problems appears  oblivious of the sufferings of Nigerians
Last month, Vanguard reported a similar incident in Delta State.

According to the report, alleged street urchins stole a steaming pot of stew being prepared by a food vendor at Obiaruku in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State. The food vendor, simply identified as Mrs. Agnes, sources said, claimed to have spent N6,000 in preparing the stew, explaining that she had gone to take her bath in preparation for the day’s business when the thieves arrived and made away with the pot of stew. The source said the thieves, however, spared a pot of rice that was on a separate fire.

“They left the rice because it was still boiling,” the source said, adding:

"Times are hard and incidents of petty robbery are on the rise in our community. Just last month, four small power generating sets, popularly known as `I pass my neighbour’ were stolen from some homes.

“In one of the incidents, the family members and friends were watching the UEFA Champions League final between the Madrid clubs when power supply from the generating set suddenly went off..

“They discovered too late that the generator had been moved from its original position. As a result, most people no longer leave their sets outside even it is working, and this is dangerous to the health of the people.”

Couple of months ago a young man was burnt to death for stealing a pot of soup in Cross Siver State. According to the report by Vanguard, a large group of people on Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Calabar, Cross River State butchered and set a young man ablaze for reportedly robbing a woman of a pot of soup while two of his accomplices got away.

The suspected thief in company of two others were said to have attacked the woman early in the morning at No 3, Mayne Avenue Extension in Calabar South. It was gathered that they were attracted by the smell of the soup the woman was heating up in readiness to eat with her children before attending morning mass, when they decided to cart away with the pot of soup.

A young man who lives in the same premises with the lady, who prefers anonymity said: “It was almost dawn when the boys attacked the woman and carried her pot of soup and when they were about getting out of the compound, she raised alarm and people came out and pursued them. They caught up with the one carrying the pot of soup and dealt him several machete cut before setting him ablaze.”

He also said the man was not able to run as fast as his accomplices because he did not want to drop the pot of soup but was running with it which gave the mob the opportunity to catch up with him and butcher him.
