Edo State Senator calls Nnamdi Kanu's release
Former Chief Whip of the Senate and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, Senator Rowland Owie has renewed the call on General Muhammadu Buhari to release without further delay the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement over the weekend, IPOB he said, is not a militant group but a group agitating for self-determination via peaceful protests which is constitutionally allowed provided they do not resort to violence.

Edo State  indigenes on Wednesday protested at the National Assembly urging legislators not to approve the $75 million loan request by the Edo state government.

General Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday wrote the National Assembly seeking the approval of a $75m loan being the second tranch of the $ 225m World Bank granted the Edo state government under the 2012-2014 external borrowings.

The hate speech against Igbo-speaking Biafrans is intensifying in Nigeria. Amidst the genocidal threat of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, the Edo State Police Commissioner. Folusho Adebanjo, recently classed the Igbo-speaking Biafrans alongside kidnappers and armed robbers. The Yoruba-born police chief stated that Kidnappers, armed robers and Igbo people should not come to Edo State.
