It all started as a joke! A silly one indeed. Governor Dave Umahi had challenged Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) not to venture into Ebonyi State or face arrest and molestation. According to Umahi, Ebonyi State was not part of Biafra and do not wish to see Kanu or any Biafra evangelise in the state.
On getting the information, the fearless IPOB leader promised Umahi that he would be storming the state to preach Biafra soon.
True to his words, barely a day after he made the promise, Kanu, who had scheduled to visit other state decided to storm Ebonyi State.
Umahi has been overpowered! Despite heavy security presence IPOB penetrates Ebonyi State. Nnamdi Kanu storms Ebonyi State as he promised.

Alas! the truth emerged at last as Kanu and his entourage stormed the state.It became clear that Ebonyi residents have been hungry for Biafra, but the tyrant, Umahi had suppressed all the yearnings of residents of the state amidst overwhelming poverty.
Thousands of Ebonyi residents trooped out to catch a glimpse of Kanu and listen to his Biafran gospel.
Meanwhile Gov Umahi was nowhere to be found, apparently hiding inside his bedroom as the lion of Biafra roamed his state.
The cowardly Umahi instead was directing soldiers and police from under his bed where he was hiding not to allow Kanu entry into the state.
The security men had to give up their quest to stop Kanu when they were confronted by thousands of Ebonyi residents who came out to welcome the Biafran leader.
According to Premium Times, the visit by Kanu to Ebonyi State, on Monday brought Abakaliki, the state's capital to a halt as thousands of residents left their businesses to catch a glimpse of the indefatigable leader.

Monday was his first official visit to Ebonyi State since his release, and residents eager to see Mr. Kanu, thronged major streets of Abakaliki chanting solidarity songs as his motorcade drove by.
The convoy entered the city via Presco flyover from the Enugu Abakaliki expressway into Ezza Road, causing traffic gridlock for hours.
It then proceeded through Ogoja Road, Afikpo Road back to Ogoja-Abakaliki Expressway, before terminating at Ezenwuba Primary School near mechanic village where he addressed the large crowd.
As the motorcade went along, it grew in length as residents joined with their vehicles, motorcycles and tricycles and on foot.
Ebonyi residents beam with smile as Biaran message of liberation hits them . . .straight on the face.
Addressing the crowd, Mr. Kanu who was garbed in Jewish regalia, said he was preparing for a bigger visit to the state.
“When next I visit Ebonyi, I promise you I will shut down Ebonyi state. Ebonyi is part of Biafra, let no one tell you otherwise,” he said.
“I will teach our enemies what they don’t know. I will teach them that nobody can stop Biafra because Biafra has come to stay. I will transverse all parts of Biafra land and other areas without anybody stopping me including police and soldiers who are always in the habit of harassing our people.
“I will continue to walk in the midst of these security agents as you can see and nobody will arrest me. They know they can’t stop Biafra. I have come to declare Ebonyi a Biafra state and when next I come, I will shut down the state for three days,” he said.
