The Zoo is Falling: Nigeria in panic mode as the world remembers Biafra

The Nigerian government is in panic mode following increasing attention Biafra is drawing from the international communities.  Several international heavyweight mainstream media including the AFP and Daily Mail UK and the Times of Israel are covering the 50th anniversary in detail. 

As Biafrans prepare to commemorate the 50 years remembrance of declaration of the Republic of Biafra and the Biafran genocide that resulted in the death of millions of Biafrans, the Nigerian government shakes.

Nigerian security personnel have been deployed across Biafra to intimidate Biafran nationalists. Yet, the Biafrans have remained undeterred and slowly eroding Nigeria's stranglehold on them.

Today, Biafrans flags, songs and other paraphernalia are abound across Nigeria. This was unthinkable barely few years ago.

Biafrans at home will mark the occasion with a sit at home protest declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the  Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) while those outside Nigeria will hold street protests. This is expected to shut down activities across Nigeria where Biafrans hold sway. The one-day action will make an obvious dent on Nigeria's economy.

The sit at home will also serve as test of the popularity of the Biafran restoration movement.

However, panicky Nigerian government has  pulled out its war machine to unleash mayhem on Biafrans as a way to undermine the Biafran remembrance day.  Hundreds of Biafrans were massacred during last year's Biafra Remembrance day by combined team of Nigerian army and police.

Despite, the heavy military presence is not deterring Biafrans from marking the occasion. Nigeria has lost its grip on Biafra and slowly Biafra is edging closer to be restored.

Indeed, the zoo is falling.
