The Biafran has learnt that Nigerian security forces are torturing and killing detained Biafran nationalists. Some of the nationalists arrest during the various peaceful protests staged by Biafrans across the country are currently languishing in detention cells, undergoing brutal torture with some of the feared dead.
According to Stanley Echendu, one of the detained Biafrans, Igwilo Emmanuel, from Arondizogu, Orlu Imo State was one of the peaceful protesters arrested by Nigerian soldiers as they were heading to Port Harcourt from Aba to join the protest October, 30th, 2015.
Echendu stated thus: "He called my mum (his junior sister) by name Igwilo Obiageli, yesterday 14/4/2016 and was telling my mum that he is among the people they arrested in Port Harcourt and he is in still in a cell there. He told us they are torturing them and sometimes they will take some of them and kill. Before there were many of them but now they are few in the cell now. he fears that very soon they may take him to kill. As he was telling my mum all these, when he was telling my mum all this d someone came and took away his phone, abruptly ending the phone conversation."
