Rivers APC in disarray as Wike declares surprise public holiday: Ineye Jack steps down. Candidates accuse Amaechi of a secret deal with Wike.

Rivers APC in disarray as Wike declares surprise public holiday: Nyeke Jack steps down. Candidates accuse Amaechi of a secret deal with Wike.
The All Progressives Congress in the upcoming Nigeria's National Assembly rerun election in Rivers
State has accused Rotimi Amaechi of deliberately starving them of funds. The alleged that Amaechi has entered into a secret deal with Governor Nyesom Wike to sell them out.

The candidates are currently battling inadequate funding, which was exacerbated by a sudden two day public holiday declared by the state government. According to the embittered APC candidates, the lack of fund and public holiday were premeditated.

Many of the APC candidates for the March 19 rerun elections are reconsidering if they will continue with the contest as there is obvious lack of money from the party for them. This has already forced APC candidate for Akuku-Toru constituency 1, Hon Ineye Jack to step down.

According to a report obtained by The Biafran, during an emergency meeting they held at the home of one of the candidates to reappraise their chances, most of them accused Rotimi Amaechi, their leader (Nigeria's Transportation Minister) of playing a secret game with Wike.

They were still in the meeting when Wike made the state broadcast where he declared the public holiday. On hearing this, our source says one of the senior candidates quickly put a call through to Amaechi to ask him what they should do considering the fact they do not have adequate funds.

Agonisingly he told them after the phone call that Amaechi said with the public holiday just declared, he may find it difficult to pull enough money for them, but he will see what he can do within 48 hours.

At that point, Hon Ineye Jack stood up and broke the sad news. He re-echoed what most of them were saying "these two Ikwerre men should not be taking us for granted. How can oga not release money up till now, then he wants to use the sudden public holidays as an excuse?

"I don't want to say much, but for those of you who want to continue, I wish you the best. But remember that I, Ineye Jack told you first that these two Ikwerre men are using our heads. I step down. Bye bye".

He then  walked out of the meeting, even as his colleagues tried in vain to stop him. Another member said angrily, "we keep hearing oga has released N7 billion, but we have not seen a penny, now we are hearing 48 hours. Is that not Friday night? If indeed its true, when are we expected to use the money, is it when all our supporters have defected?" he asked.

He concluded by saying "I don't blame anybody. God dey".
