Who wants Tomopolo's head -Ijaw people questions

Who wants Tomopolo's head -Ijaw people question

It will be recalled that the last few days has witnessed all sorts of spurious and negative social media reports and conventional media outlets maligning warlord Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, following his renewed arrest warrant and his subsequent declaration as a wanted man by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( TOMPOLO’S APPEARANCE, NATIONAL OR WHOSE INTEREST).

I resort to use this medium to communicate my opinion because I am a patriotic Nigerian and a social media practitioner who will always lend his voice where necessary and would always push for good governance in the Nigerian State. My desire to write this article was solely awaken due to matters of national importance that cannot be overlooked by any oppressed person in the World.

Any sane man will not oppose any genuine fight against corruption but when the fight against corruption is corruption itself then this fight is bound to be highly questioned. The call for Tompolo’s appearance does not serve National interest rather than the interests of few in the corridors of glass houses.

We as a nation have too many important issues to deal with other than declaring Tompolo wanted and wanting to arrest him to carry out their sinister motives.

For the records. Boko Haram is on a sophisticated renewed rampage footing as the accelerated gale of maiming, killing and the massive onslaught against the innocent Nigerians is just too heart rendering and frightful . what about the free fall of dollar that have risen to 318 naira per dollar as at yesterday, what about the controversial budget which is the financial, political, social and cultural life of our nation that every minister has been denying and rejecting of the strange figures? Where is the cash that we have recovered from the purported looters? Why is our Finance Minister still going to China yesterday to perfect the borrowing of $2.billion to fund the headless 2016 budget? Why such a big cash when we have Mr. I will do it well up there?

I far as I know, national interest in the Nigerian politics have died long ago before it was even given birth to. National interest has been a stall birth.

I read articles with great shock on how people from all quarters are calling for the appearance of Tompolo to heed the call of the Federal Government. I begin to wonder and ponder on whether they really know the hidden agenda behind this whole imbroglio.

Since the assumption into office by the President Buhari led APC Government, it has been one Ijaw Son or the other, it is either PDP faithfuls or the other, from Kingsley Kukuku to Alison Madueke, or Orubebe to Akpobulokami who has been merciless browbeaten to the point of using clutches to walk. It is either Chief Bibopre Ajube or this and that and now Tompolo. I am sure that very soon GEJ will be invited to answer to financial related crimes.

I think that it is enough, enough is truly enough for this one sided way of fighting corruption. A point must be made succinctly clear that the Ijaws did not force themselves to be part of Nigeria. Why are we treated as if we are foreigners in our own land. A land we have sacrificed so much for, a land we have been feeding with our oil and yet we could be hated and persecuted this way without full stop.

This forced marriage has killed too many of our loved ones and destroyed us for too many times. Adaka Boro was killed, same was meted out on Ken Sarowiwa, Odi was ravaged to the ground, Gbaramatu Kingdom was reduced to nothing, Age was highly dealt with by the military, Ogodobiri same thing happened, Olokpobiri village, Asari Dokubo was invited and we all the the aftermath effect, they have also killed Alamieyeseigha, Alison is also struggling with her health, Kuku is as good as serving in exile and now our Tompolo.

This has truly crossed the line of fighting corruption, this is nothing but political witch hunting of the Ijaws, it is a witch hunt taken too far. At first we thought it was a genuine fight against corruption but now our hopes has been dashed as it has become a clear case of extinguishing the Ijaws from the Nigerian State.

Buhari has even stated it clearly before the international media that people who contributed little or nothing to his electoral victory should not expect equal treatment with those who gave him massive votes, he also said it is irritating and annoying when Niger Deltans lay claims to Nigeria, s Oil as their own. In similar manner a certain man from the Northern extraction have said the Niger Deltans should be wiped out. And many other provocative remarks of such have continually occupied all notable platforms of speaking.

What more do we need, these statements are all clear indications that they never meant well for us as a people. It appears that the definition of corruption is to unlawfully subject Ijaws, Members of PDP and members of Jonathan’s cabinet into cruel torture and humiliation before the media and put them into prison before looking for facts. This seems to be the walking talking definition of fighting corruption. Anything about Gej, PDP and Ijaws are corrupt in this regard even before the judiciary interprets it.

If there exist anything like national interest, why do the Federal Government always lie against the bloody war that is taking place in the Northeast region of the Country that they use in blackmailing Gej, where are those establishing all sorts of campaign groups and paid parents about the Chibok girls? Where are the Chibok girls?

Oloibiri where Oil was first discovered in Nigeria that has presently been reduced to a wilderness, what effort is there to fix this community?

What about the purported cancellation of the Maritime University, Okerenkoko, is it even right to make such pronouncement and why has the presidency remained mute?

Forcados the first capital of colonial Nigeria that is presently struggling with the pressure of extinction, what has been said about the possible revival of this supposedly national town?

What about Burutu Community in Delta State that was hosting one of the biggest sleep way and other essential facilities that have been abandoned by the Federal Government without a single word of hope from the powers that be?

What about the supposed rehabilitation of Odi, Kaiama and Ogoni land?

Where does our national interest truly lies? I guest is to quash the Ijaw race by all means. My fellow Niger Deltans and Ijaws, we should be conscious of the fact that Nations of the World have disappeared due to oppression. We must truly stand firm to resist this hydra headed monster. This is a glaring practice of social Darwinism and we as an oppressed people must not let these economic and political buccaneers to have their way.

I drive home the point that if we truly want justice at all, then we should not be boiling only at one point. If you are boiling here , you have to boil there too. We live in a Country where illegality becomes legality while legality becomes illegality. When we are ready to Govern ourselves well without this one sided approach then GOC will know.

I rest my case here, I write not because I neither know Tompolo in person , met him before or nor have I seen him. This is purely born out of the fact that I am a law abiding citizen and a patriotic Nigerian, I am deeply pained by the endlessly unfolding political gimmicks against sections in the Nigerian State.

In the Ijaw cause I stand
