A former national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh has faulted the attitude of South East legislators in the National Assembly in keeping silent while pro-Biafra protests rocked parts of South East two weeks ago.

Umeh who spoke to The Guardian in his country home, Aguluzigbo yesterday believed that speaking out or taking a position on the grievances of the protesters could lead to early resolution of issues they raised.

He said that he was shocked that the legislators sat down and watched and none of them spoke out on the protests.

Umeh who is gunning to represent Anambra Central Senatorial people in the Senate said that as far as he is concerned, the primary purpose of going to the National Assembly is to represent the people and speak on their behalf.

He lamented that members of the National Assembly of South East extraction failed in this respect.
