Muhammadu Buhari, though voted for by the under-aged children in the North and the Biafrophobic Westerners,[against the rule of law that govern elections, assumed the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria without presenting the least qualification for even the least official position in the aforementioned country.
On December 30, 2014, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revealed that Muhammadu Buhari has no primary school certificate, confirming that he only presented his biography in the form of an affidavit which is void of any certificate name.
This has been his system of application since the year 2003, which he repeated in 2007 and 2011 as well, but was only exposed to the public in the year 2014. So for four consecutive times, Muhammadu Buhari contravened the rule of the law regulating elections in Nigeria. In Femi F. Kayode’s words, ‘’This is indeed a tragedy illustrating what Nigeria has become – that an individual is so powerful that the law has to be ignored to accommodate him, …the trend is an indication that the country’s democracy is in trouble because it is now ‘the rule of man and not the rule of law’’. Owing to this, I will excuse Buhari for truncating a democratically elected government in 1983 via a military coup but blame the system that dragged him up the ladder to the position of a General in the Nigeria Army, exposing Nigeria as a lawless state.

This takes us to the topic of this article: ‘’INTELLECTUAL GAPS EXPOSE BUHARI’’. I will like to appeal to the conscience of my readers to give Buhari a big room to accommodate all his claims of being an elite – by assuming he attended and finished elementary school in flying colours, let us also here and now, award him with First Class Honours of a Northern Nigeria University. Given the qualification, let us now marry his speech on Biafra, the rule of law (locally and internationally) and his acclaimed educational qualification.
Below is the genius’ utterance concerning Biafra on November 21, 2015 at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, during the investiture of the institution’s 7th Chancellor.
‘’The agitation of those wanting to secede from Nigeria would be surmounted by the might of the federal government, as the continuous existence of the country is not, and would never be, a subject of debate’’.
In view of the above statement, he can only be excused only if we rather accept he has no elementary education and I will rather tutor Muhammadu Buhari as one who is completely naïve of the privileges of his office and the rule of law (local and international) in general.
First, I will like to define Self-determination to him in not just a lay man’s language but a lay child’s.
In the simplest form ‘’Self-determination is believing you can control your destiny’’.
In Daniel T. and Thomas B’s words, ‘’Self determination can be traced back to the declaration of Independence of the United States of America of 4th July, 1776, which proclaimed that governments derived ‘their just power from the consent of the government’ and that ‘whenever any form of Government becomes destructive of these ends; it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it’’.
Further definition still explains Self-determination as ‘’the right of a cohesive national group (‘’people’’) living in a territory to choose for themselves a form of political and legal organization for that territory.
With the above understanding of Self-determination in mind, let us take a look at the Article 3 and 4 of the Draft Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People by the United Nations:
Article 3: Indigenous people have the right to Self-determination. By virtue of that right, they freely determine their political status and freely purpose their economic, social and cultural development.
Article 4: Indigenous people’s, in exercising their right to self determination, have the right to autonomy or self government in matters relating to their internal and local affairs, as well as ways and means for financing their autonomous function.buhari-empty-head
From the above Articles, it is obvious that Buhari has once again shown publicly, a clear proof of his illiteracy by his speech and his emotions in addition, has taken the better part of his sense of judgment. He has long been basking in the euphoria of Nigeria’s negligence towards his certificate but numerous measures and approaches he has been giving to issues concerning Biafra has continued to expose his intellectual gaps, and we would like to remind Buhari that if the rule of law is to be applied in any court of law in Nigeria on any citizen of Nigeria, a visit to his innumerable disregard and disrespect to the rule of law call for inexcusable revisit which inadvertently makes him unqualified to vie or occupy any governmental position whatsoever in Nigeria or anywhere for that matter. If ” What’s good for the goose is also good for the gander” Buhari should cease to use the term, “rule of law” for the rest of life because he is a huge disgrace to the office of presidency in Nigeria and in the international community.
I therefore urge all Biafrans to disregard Buhari’s display of illiteracy and press relentlessly towards bringing back Biafra to the world map.
